Although half the board thought they were done forever, Foo Fighters are playing two Taylor tribute shows in London & Los Angeles
(no mention at all of this being their last shows, although I wouldn't expect them back touring until some point in 2023)

I feel like this could be either the last Foo shows live OR the introduction of the next Foo drummer. Idk, it still feels too soon.

Unknown as of yet, the shows were just announced yesterday.

They would've stated in the press information for the show if it was going to be their last shows I think.
I mean AC/DC, Metallica, Chili Peppers, countless other bands continued after a core member died.. I think people just equate Dave with Nirvana, but he had recorded demos that became the Foo Fighters before Kurt died and really there was no point in that band existing without Kurt... shite, I don't know if Nirvana would have lasted much longer past 1994 if Kurt didn't die.
That said.. the earliest I see Foo touring again is maybe May/April 2023.. I think Jazz Fest will be one of their first shows back.. and Josh Freese is probably the front runner for next drummer.

Lots of stories out there that Nirvana were gonna break up had it not been for Kurt's death.
I hope these shows are livestreamed. I'm interested, for sure, but just don't know if I want to see that band without Taylor.

These guys are musicians, they will go crazy sitting home 24/7, especially them being one of the GOAT live bands.
They need time to grieve but i fully expect them to be Foo Fighters 3.0 by 2023

I doubt Nate, Chris, Rami and Pat are just sitting at home doing nothing.

You knew Dave would have to cash in on the opportunity.

Dude loves the spotlight for sure. Is there anyone he won't suck up to and 'collaborate" with?

It wouldn't surprise me if all or most of the profits for these shows are donated to some cause related to Taylor.

Oh man.
Frick Dave Grohl for liking to make music and being in a position to do it with others...

I adore Dave Grohl, but as much as I love him, even I can admit this statement is stupid.

Loosing someone like Hawkins would be a big blow to any band. But, it's not like losing Tom Petty was for the Heartbreakers. Foo Fighters can carry on if they want, whether they call it a "tribute concert" or not.
