My dad took me to see his friend in Anchorage when I was 8. The friend made money growing weed and laundered his money as a registered FFL. One day when we weren't salmon fishing we just drove up the mountain and pulled off the highway at an illegal dumping site. He and my dad took turns blasting holes through an old bathtub with a 10ga. I was amazed at the damage it did.

I'm not sure but this place - Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center - is where I saw them

The last native elk were found in interior Alaska during the “Ice Age” and died out many thousands of years ago. Modern elk populations were derived from Washington and Oregon elk being transplanted to islands in southeast Alaska and Kodiak.

It doesn’t look like you’re really that high up in the float plane y’all took , until you realize that those little lines are whole river systems

If I recall correctly for most of the flight we were around 5 or 6000 ft, had to climb to 8000ft or more around Denali and the glaciers.

Some were transplanted to a few islands.
