probably not. The same people who want to ban all guns don't want their little children exposed to a policeman with a gun.

Even if for some reason in this time they had no funds are whatever the reason for not having an SRO. At a minimum they should have had direct radio coms with the school for a lock down. '

I have trouble with the story saying the shooter went through an unlocked door yet the police where waiting for a key. Plenty of questions with out seeing the layout

Not saying a conspiracy but what is out there is confusing.

My town population is 20k and we have at least one SRO at all three public elementary school, the middle school, and high school. All outer doors are locked and it is a PITA to get into my daughter's school if you have to pick something up. Sadly, they also do "wildlife" drills in the event a deer gets into the building.

That being said, I live in an OT rich town and we are 40 minutes away from Sandy Hook. Our town has the resources to hire as many people we want or ask the parents to cover the cost. Sadly, some towns just don't have the resources for the security expenses.

ETA: we have 5 public schools and it looks like our overall budget is $95M and we spend $400k for security at the schools. I have no reference on how that compares to other communities.
