This is one of the Ford vs Chevy questions that comes up on The Foresty Forum routinely. You will get a lot of professionals that use it regularly and some that wouldn't think of putting it in their saws except in an "emergency".
Just be aware the oil from the pan is on the unfiltered side of the system so it is by definition more contaminated than on the pressure side of the system in an engine. At the very least I would filter it before use.
