on our roster or better yet in our school that can get in there and replace #44 Danny Mc! Is it just me or is he seemingly always the cause of a big play. He's too big n slow for safety and too small for linebacker! so lets put him on the bench. He is just not cutting it!

Thoughts?

Glen Dorsey singled out McCray as on of the young up and comming guys that will make a big impact going forward. I think the talent is there.........we've just got to figure out a better way to utilize it if it's not working. I think asking anyone to hold Percy Harvin one on one is asking for trouble.

I understand some frustrations, but I've read a lot of tasteless comments about McCray on this board. Give the KID a break. I'm sure he's working his tail off.

I could work my tail off too but doesnt mean I can still get out there and play coverage if I am just not quick enough. His lateral movement(shifting of his hips in coverage) is terrible. He prob is a good football player but not quick enough to cover wr's

Dont blame him. Blame the Def coord for putting him in that position.

How many linebackers in Div 1 football can cover Harvin 1 on 1?

Actually he's just the right size, and looks to be the right speed.

Put #7 in the nickle. Guy is big enough and physical enough for run support and has excellent cover skills.

Danny isn't even that strong in run support, so I don't get why he is seeing field. The defense looks just as confused with him in the package, so I am at a loss as to what he brings to the table.

In fairness to him, on the tip play he had no help due to another player busting an assignment.

To answer your question, I'm not sure if he's a problem or if his play is overscrutinized.

I dont think it is a speed issue, it is an assignment issue. And he actually had good coverage on Harvin even without help. He just misjudged the ball.

You want the answer to this thread go look back at last years loss to kentucky and see who is chasing the big plays and was a main factor in the loss. Then look at the loss to Arkansas and see again who was chasing the big plays and was the main factor in the loss. My wife can tell you because on every play she would say look it's that #44 guy getting burnt again followed by why don't they get him out of the game. Yes he is Huckfin all over again. Man, if my wife noticed it, it happened. Same for the Auburn and Florida games this year. I was at the Florida game and she called and said there's your boy again and laughed.

personely i dont think he played that bad against florida..... i think he was in good enough position to make that one play....if it wasnt for harvin pushin off he would have gotten more of the ball possibly intrcg. it or at least knocking it down

Danny Mc, sorry if you're reading all these ranters hating on you. We really do appreciate all the hard work you put in and know that you want to win as much as anyone. Though you haven't seen many mention it on here, we saw Harvin push off, otherwise it's a pick. But, as you know, that's part of the game. Keep your head up and keep pushing.

Not sure why you are attacking McCray. It's not his fault the coaching staff puts him covering Harvin one on one, and has the backfield so screwed up I doubt they will recover this year.

McCray is not the reason they lost to Florida by 31 points - time for many here to come to that conclusion.
