try to find this beverage on Lebanese menus in any other city, any other state, or in Lebanon itself, and it doesn’t appear to exist. Ask, and no one has ever heard of Lebanese iced tea. That’s because Lebanese iced tea is a completely New Orleans invention. In truth, the only thing Lebanese about Lebanese iced tea is who created it.

It's the nuts that set the Lesbian Tea apart. I love the nuts!!!

Not sure I agree with this statement. Back in 1989-1992'ish, I can remember ordering Lebanese tea from the Green Olive Restaurant on W. Congress in Lafayette. I lived down the street while in college and dined there 3-4 days per week (chicken shawarma plate was $4.99) The owner George, his sister, and parents came over from Lebanon during the 1980's to escape the Lebanese War. I don't think LT came from the homeland, but was an Americanized creation to supplement the beverage list. Who invented it, I have no clue. Just remember drinking it 30+ years ago. I still have George's business card and will reach out to him to inquire where/when he learned about it.
