David Tennant and Catherine Tate are coming back for the 60th Anniversary special. The rumor is Jodie Whittaker will regenerate into Tennant and the 60th Anniversary will revolve around why the Doctor went back to his old face, then he’ll regenerate into Ncuti Gatwa. The speculation is Yasmin Finney is going to be Donna Noble’s daughter - no word if she’s going to be the companion or will just be in the special. There are all sorts of rumors about Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi coming back for the 60th, and other companions.

I’ve been a fan of Doctor Who for damn near 40 years. Outside of LSU football, it’s my great obsession. The past few years have not been great, because the show has been in the toilet — due to piss poor writing, not being “woke”. That Flux series was straight garbage. But it actually feels like things are moving in the right direction now. The guy who brought the show back in 2005 is taking it over again — it’s akin to LSU rehiring Nick Saban. The BBC and Sony or Warner Brothers is going to pump a bunch of $$$ into the series and create a Doctor Who extended universe.

Fandom is in kind of a weird place. I go on a big message board and people were pretty positive about Ncuti Gatwa. (More so than when Jodie Whittaker was cast. Hell, I’m in the same category). There’s also a contingent of “Doctor Who is too woke now” assholes and people who say it’s sexist to be excited about the future of the show while Jodie Whittaker is still the Doctor. I don’t know which group is worse.
