It's just so dumb. If you think Hasty gives you the best chance to win, give him the ball and tell him to go kick some arse. But, don't basically tell him his best chance to win is by trying to trick the other team. What kind of message is that sending to your players?

It also gives the appearance that Johnson doesn't think that Dutton can't compete with Ole Miss so let's you him to trick them.

Baloney! There is no difference in playing matchups at the beginning of the game then at the end if you don’t have a real starter - and we didn’t. Hasty went 4 innings, and that’s the best we could hope for. By starting Dutton he took away Bianco’s chance to play matchups with his lineup. It was a little trick to gain a little advantage. Nothing wrong with that.
