Probably not significant considering they're usually on a pitch count, but last night was the first midweek game of the year where we didn't see either Reyzelman, Cooper, Hasty, Gervase, or Fontenot.

Should be well rested going into the series vs. the Rebels.

Huge for us down the stretch. Our bullpen has been taxed all season long. Need some rest heading into the postseason. Would help to find a few guys to eat up starter innings on the weekend, too, even if we still have to revert back to bullpen heavy in the postseason.

Reyzelman just looked tired last week. He needed some rest

We need him if we’re making a playoff push, high energy guy

Right. I’d imagine a regular pen session with Kelly and the catcher is less energy than an in-game session.

Not sure why he was pitching two plus innings of middle relief on Sunday when we had a 5 run lead and several available arms in the pen.

Probably because Jay thought it was best to use him there. Might give the team the best chance to secure the series, what ya think?

I think the pitcher that usually throws 96-98 mph was only throwing 91-93 mph. The kid had pitched in about 6 of our previous 8 games, including a midweek 9th inning we were leading by 4 in the 9th inning.

I’d like for the guy to get a little rest when an opportunity arises. Devin Fontenot is more than capable of giving you some outs with a comfortable lead. You don’t have to throw your A1 relievers on short rest if you can avoid it. If it’s a 1 or 2 run game, go ahead. But when you have a little bit of cushion you can try to get by with a few other guys.

It would be nice to have some gas left in the tank come June.

The later in the season it is the more significant a night of rest can be.

I've been concerned about over-using pitchers all year, but CJJ doesn't seem to be nearly as concerned about it as I am so I've just decided to quit thinking about it. Maybe I just have PTSD.

Lately the bullpen has been pitching more than the starters so i guess it makes sense that you'd use the starters on Tues this week. I still wish we'd see lesser-used guys like Lansville, Fontenot, Edwards on Tuesdays but I digress

Yeah Riley "Pork chop" Cooper has been showing some wear recently. Those guys in the bullpen have been solid!

Jay better start letting the Saturday/Sunday starters get pasted the 1st inning or he's going to wear them down come the NCAA Tournament.
