Hardheads are infinitely worse. Would use meat tenderizer on the wound when we were younger.

Knock on wood, I haven’t had a bad hardhead stick in nearly 20 years. Probably because I beat the bastards pretty good before handling them. Especially the ones that are 3-4” long. If any of you have done a lot of saltwater fishing, especially with live shrimp, sometimes you’ll get one that’s about the size of a live shrimp that somehow gets on the hook
