Baseball Question: The MLB Draft vs NIL

Ok Berry is most likely a first rounder , a top 15 pick? Just curious, how much money will he sign for if he went to mlb? Can anyone give an educated guess on bonus money(slot value potential) he could get to sign? Could NIL change a kid's mind if the money wasnt such a big chunk(higher 7 figures) to where NIL could match or closely match the money for the kid to stay another year?
Maybe not for Berry but what if a kid like Doughty could be drafted but lets say could get 500k to sign....could NIL make him stay by matching that offer at lsu and change the whole "he gone to mlb" as soon as eligible for mlb? I mean it wouldn't matter if a kid signed after Sr year because he already got the NIL money to stay another year. Now, less of course a player would sign for multiple millions very Hugh in draft, NIL can change alot of players minds in baseball to stay and try for Omaha for another year.
I find this interesting.

I don’t think it will change anything for players already in college. Players want to get their pro careers started. The year you get drafted, you only get to play in handful of games. If you stay four years in college, you’re first full year of pro ball, many would already be 23. That is frowned upon in professional baseball. This came directly from an advisor/agent of a player drafted inside the Top 10 rounds a year ago.

Berry will get about 2.5 - 3.5 million dollars around that slot. He’s also a draft eligible sophomore so he’ll have even more leverage to get the money he wants.
Would you turn that down to take 500k and delay your professional career?

Doughty is projected to be a late first round pick. The slot value is between 2.5-3.5 mil. NIL still can’t touch first round money.
Slot value for 500k is mid 4th round. I still think most people would take 500k in pro money over 500k in NIL money.

It’s not going to keep guys from leaving college early. After your junior year you lose all leverage you have. I do think it could help sway guys to come to college rather than going pro straight out of high school though.
