Did you read the part where they acknowledged the rules were administered incorrectly leading him to not have a fair shot in locating his ball and resulting in a penalty?
Also, the hating Sergio schtick was old 10-12 years ago. Grow up baw.

Sergio Garcia was completely in the right to be upset over that incorrect ruling and I don't think it's written in stone anywhere that the PGA is the only entity allowed to have a tour.
I don't see a problem here

#1 I shouldn't have started this thread. One already existed on the board. #2 The Tour admitted after the round that their official made a mistake in administering the rule on time spent looking for a lost ball. A question I have is why didn't Sergio appeal the ruling before signing his card after the round.

There is nothing to appeal, he did not play the original ball so nothing could be changed. Your attitude towards players being able to make their own decisions on where to tee it up is what should change.

If he had played the original ball there wouldn't have a penalty assessed. Your attitude towards knowing & understanding the rules of golf is what should change.

The PGA Tour isn't the only professional tour. The Europeans have their tour, the Seniors have their tour, eg the Champions Tour, and the Korn Ferry is for players who don't have exempt status for the PGA Tour.

The rules were applied the way they should have AFTER the mistake from the referee. In this scenario, Garcia was forced to take a drop in error. After that mistake by the official, how do you allow a guy to take a drop with a much more beneficial lie, AND reduce his stroke on the hole in remediation. That would be disadvantageous to other players. This is where the video review could have been beneficial. On course officials obviously miss things.

Sergio did as he was told by the rules official, there is nothing that he could have done at that point as the official issued the ruling. The tour should compensate him for the mistake and reprimand the official.

How should the Tour compensate Sergio? If you believe half of what has been published he's basically told the Tour to go fu*k them selves. I would also bet the Tour has reprimanded the official. They just haven't announced it publicly.
