TLDR version: Abortion is disgusting, but it's a necessary evil and should be left to the states.
Long version:
I view abortion as being morally and ethically disgusting based on my own values and beliefs. Growing up in a God-fearing household, I believe than anyone who has gotten an abortion for illegitimate reasons will have to answer to a higher power one day. That's on them and their conscience. I view legitimate reasons to have an abortion as the child being a product of rape/incest or the pregnancy will have drastic negative impacts on the health of the mother.
However, the problem going forward in my mind is that there is going to be an EXPLOSION of single-mother/parent households. I'm a very strong believer that the degradation of the nuclear family is the root cause of MOST societal issues we are facing today.
These are people that can not afford, nor are mature enough, to raise another human and are all of a sudden thrust into that role. Sure, they could "grow up" and "accept responsibility" for their actions, but that attitude I find to be unrealistic. They most likely weren't ever taught accountability from their single-parent home. It's a vicious cycle in typically lower income areas, no matter urban or rural, nor whatever their race/ethnicity. What is going to happen is the burden of providing for these unwanted children will be passed onto the tax payers through expansions in government subsidies and welfare programs. THATS what I have a bigger issue with. Leave it up to the individual states.
Haven't really thought this through, but there has to be a way to incentivize adoption of these unplanned or unwanted children by other Americans. Make a concerted effort to push adoption of an American child rather than from abroad, especially for those that can't afford the IVF process.

Agreed for the most part
The dirty secret of abortion is that the more the right reigns it in, the more people/voters that oppose it will be produced. And thus those on the right are left in quite the moral dilemma.
