That's EXACTLY what you are doing.

This season is too small of a sample size for you, because he hasn't hit.

Yet you are perfectly fine using a portion of SEC play last year, since he hit well during that time, while ignoring the rest of the 50 years he's been playing at LSU.

You have an excuse for every time he hasn't hit the baseball, yet are telling us that the one (and only) small portion of his career that he did hit is what should tell us everything we need to know.

Nah, it’s not because he hasn’t hit. It’s because today is his 3rd start of the year, or 7% of the team’s games, and most of his at bats are off the bench & spread out.

Situational at bats does not put a stamp on anything

Sure, if you want to call 100+ ABs just a portion.

And ignore the fact that the natural progression of a college athlete calls for your best play to come in years 3 & 4.

A player not playing well as a freshman or in a handful of games during thr Covid year as a sophomore is not anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps you are caught up in your feelings from the way Manieri used him & the confidence he had in him despite a lack of production.
