A total waste of money having this on the ballot by itself.
And yet he wants more. This act alone speaks to mismanagement.

By design, he was hoping to get it passed by low voter turnout.
So how bad is the messaging, or lack thereof?
Again, I hope that the office handles business.
However, Slidell (and parts of Covington) have spiraled downhill under his auspices. No offense Kiwi, but I expect more.

This goes back to the original funding tax to build the courthouse in covington years ago. A tax was voted on to build the courthouse. But it was large enough to build and operate the building as well. The tax was "temporary" though and once it ran its course, the parish council tried to renew it saying the original tax was meant for operations of the courthouse all along. They tried three times to renew, getting shot down each time. So the parish cute services drastically.
The next step to try and strong-arm parish voters to get more tax money was to cut DA budget and force Montgomery to raise the funding for his office himself by putting a tax up for vote. This was shot down yesterday.
If you recall the parish did the same thing years ago to the Coroner. He went and put a tax up for vote and got it. It was WAY more than was needed. A few short years later he was in jail with a huge coffer full of tax payer money he had misappropriated, to say it nicely.

FWIW. Warren Montgomery reads too slow and pauses where there aren't any commas. Very annoying.

Iirc, he was doing an “autopsy” on mummified remains...in Egypt. I jest - maybe.

Overall St Tammany under Montgomery has a pretty good office as opposed to the previous DA in Walter Reed.
Not a chance. Walter’s personal issues aside, the Montgomery office is a clown show.

St. Slammany is a distant memory as the Northshore becomes the “New Orleans East - North.”
Come on… the parish is 80% white and one of, if not THE wealthiest in the state.. wtf kind of comment is that?

Why are focused solely on race.
There are some less than stellar individuals of all races, especially in Slidell.
I know some wonderful people that live on the east side of the parish. They say how much it has changed in the last couple of years. They aren’t happy with the way things are going.
Those aren’t my words, it is theirs. Again, these are good people that have simply had enough of what they perceive is a spike in criminal activity.

Because you said that STP is becoming the “New New Orleans East-North” and NOLA East is overwhelmingly black.

Again, this is happening. However, some “enterprising” folks are also rolling in from St. Bernard, as well as the West Bank.
My comparison to Nola East is not race driven, per se, but related to its status as a shithole.

With all due respect I think you’re being a little dramatic. NS is far from becoming a shite hole. But I do believe that we need to keep our guard up to prevent the types you speak of from taking advantage of our citizens and quality of life.

don't believe in paying for the services that they get
Laughable. Government doesn’t have a funding problem. They have a spending problem. Never give gov more money. They will simply squander it and services won’t change. Govt will still be inept and corrupt.

For the most part - that is correct.
In spots, however, things are going sideways.
Those spots need to be addressed. They aren’t (at least not to see real change).

I agree fully.
