According to the commanding officer, the ship currently has 422 sailors living on board.
Are the suicides amongst only those guys. If not, then it is not overly shocking.
Now if they are just amongst those 422, then they need to see if one of them has the last name Clinton, and what the deceased may have known.

Not entirely clear. The article says 3 sailors “aboard the ship” committed suicide last month, and goes on to say there have been at least 5 suicides among sailors “assigned to the ship” in the past 10 months. It’s heavily implied by the article that these are sailors living on board, hence the Navy’s decision to move sailors to an offsite barracks.
The exact number of suicides seems to be disputed by various sources as well.
I thought this comment was interesting:
quote:
Smith told a sailor who had asked about living conditions that the Navy "probably could have done better to manage your expectations coming in here" before informing the crew that raising concerns should be done "with reasonable expectations and then understanding what ... what this is like."
"What you're not doing is sleeping in a foxhole like a Marine might be doing," he added.
I mean.. I get what he’s saying but the ship has been in dry dock since August 2017.
