Considering the Lakers and their fans figured they would get multiple rings or at least be a fixture in the finals, it is a massive disappointment.
One ring in a pandemic season, first round exit in the next regular season, missed the playoffs entirely the season after that. And still don’t own any of their own unswapped picks until 24 or 25, depending on the Pels’ choice.
They got one ring and then cratered their franchise for potentially the next decade because they will be so depleted by the time LeBron leaves.

Yes they could have easily made a run at multiple titles without the AD trade IMO. They had talent, they just wanted to rush the timeline…it worked for the one title (with luck) but then they had to be near perfect with FAs and injuries after and they have failed at both of those

They are still the lakers and still play in LA. And it’s basketball. Even without any assets they are always 1-2 disgruntled Klutch superstars away from being contenders.
I mean we can’t sit here and complain about the big market advantages and then also pretend like those advantages won’t exist over the next decade
