AD peaked with Pels. He was supposed to develop into a transcendent player, but his injury history and soft mentality stunted his growth. Deferring to LeBron also has really held his game back.

BI is an ascending player who hasn't reached his peak yet. He is the closest thing you can get to KD in the league and is only 24.

We absolutely have the better of the two players today, which is crazy to think about only 3 years after the trade.

Absolutely not. When he played, AD was dominant on the Lakers in 2020 and 2021. Phoenix had no answer for him last year in the playoffs before he got hurt.

i think it is likely that davis will be overpaid for what he provides for the rest of his career. one of the downsides of a max contract is that for superstars, they remain woefully underpaid. unless davis becomes the alpha leader of a consistent championship contender, that will not be the case for him
