Just moved here and haven't gotten to play much. Only played TPC 4 seasons with a member friend but their initiation and rates have gone through the roof.
Have heard about Tierra Verde (far) and Firewheel?
What are some other public courses to check out. I'm in North Lakewood area.

Pecan hollow in Plano. Indian creek (creek course) in Carrollton.

Stevens park is a good one.
If you do a search of this board, this topic comes up pretty frequently and there are quite a few good threads.

Waterchase, Bear Creek(s), Fossil Creek, Twin Creek, Sky Creek Ranch (my favorite), Texas Rangers are some of the nicer courses that won't stiff you no green fees.
