Random hotel search

My wife and I love going to national parks or on history based vacation, however as we are both teachers our time to go is during the summer when most parks are packed.
Since we are teachers our budget isn't very big, I usually look for hotels under $150 a night. Most of the places I've thought about going this summer are either booked solid or out of our price range. Is there some kind of site that I can pick a date and budget and it will generate a random location that fits that criteria?
We have never been west of Texas (pretty much covered all the east coast multiple times) so somewhere out west would be ideal.

I’ve never found such a site for hotels. I’ve found solutions for airfare however.
Traveling in US as a teacher is difficult to do on the cheap unless you want to stay in the south. And even then, some destinations are off limits.
Vacations by Marriott could be an option. Check their website. They will bundle airfare/hotels and you can typically find a discount. When you log onto the site, they have deals of the day and other specials. But as you would expect, the best deals are places most people don’t want to go during the summer - hence the deals
However, if you are willing to travel internationally, that changes things.

Google has a hotel pricing engine that you can search. It works like their airfare searching program.

Just a thought, why don't you get a Marriott rewards credit card that earns points towards free stays? There are some killer deals right now.
