There’s two big ice breakers.
1. Where are you from?
2. What do you do for a living?
Me personally, I’d prefer to be asked where I’m from if it’s someone I just met but after talking for a while or meeting them a few times it couldn’t hurt to ask what you do for a living. Never know they might be some well connected person who likes you and says quit your job and work for me. I’ll pay you double.
