I play video games but my children never really see me play them, I only play after they go to sleep. As my son and daughter get older I might play some with them on the weekends, but I have a feeling on the weekdays when they need to be socializing, doing homework, or going to events there will be almost 0 video gaming in the house while they are awake.
I'm a huge gamer, but everything is ok in moderation, and some people do let their kids play way too much video games. But to each his own, and I think as a gamer I also have a better understanding of what "too much" is, but also I know which games are appropriate and what to look for if my children start showing signs of gaming addiction. (and I also have a better grasp and getting them to put the controller down... shoot, they know I video game, but they know I never neglect stuff around the house or them to play them. Gotta lead by example)
ETA: We also don't watch TV in my house except the last 30 minutes before bed to "cool down".
