It really sucks that LSU has to play FLA every single year. Who came up with this? It pisses me off that the precious BAMA/Tenn game must be every 3rd sat in october. It's totally unfair to have FLA as a permanent. None of the other conferences that have 2 seperate divisions have a permanent in the other division. The SEC sucks Bama's dick and we get screwed. What is gonna really suck is if we lose to UGA and win all our other games and bama goes to ATL even after a loss to LSU. FLA is and has been the best East team consistently and will continue to be based on the unbelievable recruiting in that state. I don't mind playing them but not every year. Thoughts?

I don't know BUT someone mentioned (and I wonder if anyone knows anything about it) that the LSU/Florida series on an every year basis is about to expire.

LSU vs Florida
Tenn. vs Gumps
UGA vs Auburn
USC vs Arkansas

Those look like perfect matchups to me.

How would you put it? LSU playing Vanderbilt every year??

Might be nice for Vandy to be our permanent SEC E opponent for a while!

Why do you want an even easier schedule? As big of a fan as I am, we have a terribly weak non conference schedule. We have no challenges outside of our conference, and are starting to get disrespected nationally for the schedule we do have. Taking Florida off would only make things worse, and drop us in the BCS standings every year.

I think the question is why does the SEC force teams to play a permanent opponent every year? Give them a standard rotation and if two schools want to keep traditional rivalries intact, let them handle that on their own.

When was the last time Bama even played Florida?

You can think Bama/UT for this BS...the SEC gave into their shite in '92 and let this happen. You didn't see the Big12 honoring the OU/Neb rivalry.

But what if the time comes (and it will although who knows when) that Florida sucks and someone say Tenn is top dog. Then we're stuck with Florida indefinitely.

Why couldn't they rotate? I have no clue we've played Florida as long as I can remember ... but at some point LSU was good ... then we weren't ... then we were.

You just never know .. I guess it's just different now with the BCS mess.

I don't know for sure, but they play Florida just has often as we play UGA or any other team from the east (other than UF).

I don't particularly mind that we play Florida every year. I agree with the point that we need that additional in conference challenge to offset our horrible out of conference schedule. Also, if we want to be the best, we have to beat the best.

Man that a little cowardly. FLA is best in the east we are supposed to best in the west. I think it is a good game to look foward to. When we were winning we didnt complain. So it is becoming a great rivalry that could produce big thing sfor LSU in the future. You cant win them all.I want to play FLA every year. Greta for recruiting, BCS scheduling, money and etc.

Why not play FLA every year?

Arguably, since we must keep a permanent, the only other opponent from the East who we have played on a consistent basis has been Kentucky (and we played them just a few games more than we had Florida). I think that they want balance with the traditional powers playing the other powers. Also, don't you think Florida would rather have a different opponent from the west too? It works both ways.

I've had this concept that we move Alabama and Auburn to the East and Vanderbilt and Kentucky to the west. That way they can keep their annual rivalries and we can rotate all three teams every two years. But I don't think the SEC would go for that.

Quit whining. I like playing FLA every year. Like the previous poster says, to be the best you have to play the best. I wish you wouldn't even post things like this, because when a FLA fan comes on here and sees that some LSU fans dont want to play them every year, it makes us look bad.

I love playing Florida every year. It is the most exciting game on our schedule. I bet Auburn hates playing Georgia every year. And even though Tennessee sucks now, Alabama and the Vols have been rivals for a very long time.
