The way Woodward placed Wade on an island to distance himself from the negative narrative developed by Pete Thamel and Pat Forde lends credence to Woodward overtly planning Wade's demise. Woodward never bought into Wade despite Wade being a player and fan favorite. I mean, even the rantards here admit Woodward had to fired Wade before the tournament because he couldn't risk Wade going on a tournament run which would have made the firing a lot more difficult. I highly suspect Woodward orchestrated the Wade witch hunt with the NCAA, media and his FIL.
Woodward got what he wants now. I really hope it works out. However at this moment the basketball program is in shambles and it's painful to watch. Woodward could have prevented this by taking a different path but these are the type of decisions that executives are forced to make. I truly hope MM can turn this thing around. Woodward surely has not given him an easy task.

I agree. At the same time it would be nice if Woodward used that massive athletics budget to stop leaking roofs/ceilings at the PMAC and practice facility. Maybe he can invest a little in getting LSU the facilities we need.
That $5 million we paid Bo Pelini could have gone to a new weight room and better locker rooms and support areas in the PMAC but alas we can't criticize Woodward here

There are several moderate level boosters in my position that are not supporting the school entirely because of this. It is not about blaming anyone or whatever. He sacrificed basketball for football and he acts like some of us don’t matter who have literally donated hundreds of thousands of dollars. He could have fought this or took a 2 year suspension.
