I was there today.


I do remember reading an article in the Charlotte observer about a baw who tried to catch brookies in streams 3 feet wide.

He was very successful at it.

But I cannot find the article.

How was it? I live about 30 minutes from the Watauga and 15 from the South Holston and I haven't fished either in a year or more. Need to get my arse out there.

They never did an article on me...

When I was in Grad school at App state, I fished things that you would look at and say, "No way there's fish in there." Many of them were 18" or less wide. (Depth is/was more important than width.)

There are some tiny creeks along the Blue Ridge Parkway between Blowing rock and Deep Gap that hold fish, but involve significant bushwhacking.
