Bad recruiting

If you viewed the LSU-Florida game objectively, you have to admit that the Gators were FASTER than the Tigers in all aspects of the game.
Folks, despite all the claims of LSU's superior speed, it is not there. The linemen, offense and defense, are too big and do not have quickness nor speed.
The linebackers are not quick or fast. The defensive backs are bigger than most teams' but again are not fast enough to cover fast receivers.
The safeties? They have been a liability all year. They, too, are a step too slow. And can you imagine why, on Florida's 3rd play of the game, the coaches had Danny McCray trying to cover Percy Harvin downfield?
LSU needs to recruit smaller, quicker linemen and linebackers, faster running backs and smaller, faster defensive backs.
Did you take note of The Gators small,
very fast Freshmen running backs? Or their small but very fast, hard hitting Freshmen defensive backs?
I say all this because I think Les Miles has an ingrained Big 10 mentality about football players. The bigger, the better, so lets play smash mouth football. Folks, that won't fly in todays SEC.
Auburn and Florida are 2 good examples of success using smaller, quicker players. Florida's 250 lb right defensive end ran circles around Ciron Black and if you did not see this you didn"t watch the same game I did.
I decided to make this post because I became concerned about LSU's recruiting after watching Winnfield Play Mansfield
friday night.
An LSU commitment, Mansfield's all-everything defensive tackle Chris Davenport was TERRIBLE in this game. He showed no aggressiveness, took plays off, and instead of dominating a Winnfield offensive lne of 4 juniors and 1 freshmen (the center), Davenport was a NON-FACTOR. When he did get in on a tackle he would beat his chest and strut like King Kong. Is this what LSU's recruiting has become?
Like it or not, a fair assessment of Les miles recruiting does not paint a rosy picture. The proof is the lack of talent on this year's team and, regardless of Rivals ratings, the lack of big-time commitments, with a few exceptions, of the 2009 signing class.
I know, I know, the coaches know more about these players than I do. Yeah, right. YOU have eyes! What do yo see?
Yes, Chicken Little, the sky is falling.
Flame away!

We should pull Davenports scholarship! He totally dominated at LSU camp against 4-5 star o-linemen, but frick that!
You are a tool

Anybody notice LSU morphing into a Big Ten team: big, slow linemen on both sides, big slow LB's, etc.

All of our players are big and slow and last night really showed that. I think we should just release the whole fricking team and start from scratch.

Wow.. They need to hire you.. You seem to have all the answers.

Yep, it is working real well for Auburn.
LSU has the players. Hatcher looks good, some other younger guys look good. Taylor is a liability in coverage, but Coleman is solid.
TT needs to play more. TH needs to get the ball more.
The problem in my opinion defensively, is coaching. Offense is okay, being young at QB hurts.

It's Saban's fault. Most of the Seniors he recruited.

I'm being serious. It's about time someone agrees with me. There should be a rule on the LSU football team: If you can't run a 4.4 or faster you shouldn't be allowed on the team.
And yes, I'm being sarcastic.

FWIW, last year Florida lost 4 games, the year before they won the NC.

if anything LSU has gotten faster at DB and will likely get faster at LB in the future when ryan baker starts seeing more time

That's the irony of this moron's post. Phelon Jones, Ron Brooks, Jai Eugene, and Patrick Peterson are all faster than Chevis or Zenon. I would guess that Chris Hawkins is about the same. The safeties need to improve, but saying that we don't have speed is ridiculous.
