Their are scads of data points in Wade's career that would suggest otherwise. For someone to feel like it was a no-brainer that Wade's absence was the sole reason we lost is just feeling sentimental about losing him as the program's head cheerleader. Look at the shots we scored on last night versus ISU. Eason was throwing in crap inside with people draped all over him. We almost never got a clean look inside or out while ISU is draining un-contested 3's with great regularity. That was Wade's team..his design...and his outcome. He will be missed for his energy and enthusiasm for LSU but his coaching will never be the thing people remember.

Here’s what you’re missing, Tari Eason never caught the ball with his back to the basket in Wade’s offense especially on the left block. That happened several times yesterday. We never ran the horns look with the double screen up top for Pinson or the secondary option off that look with Eason catching the ball up top for him to drive the ball right which is his go to. We’ve also changed up having Days posting up a lot more. Since the last week and a half of the regular season he’s taking more inside shots than 3s but yesterday he caught 2 post ups, one on an inbounds play. Even Wilkinson was on the opposite side of where he’d been a viable shooting outlet all year long. We also didn’t pressure the ball much, the rotations and minutes were totally different as well. No we didn’t do much of what we normally do yesterday schematically or approach wise. Just because we had some recognizable sloppy play doesn’t mean the design was the same. There’s a reason Days stormed out of practice the other day and it’s easy to see why he did that now.
