I will always love that man. He could be coaching Bama in 5 years and I'd still love him.

He revived this shite arse program to what it was in the early 90s. 1st SEC title in fricking generations. 1st SEC Championship game since 19 fricking 80. Yet we act like he wasn't worth a shite.

He was sloppy as frick but IMO that shows his personal investment. Dude paid his OWN salary for players. That is being invested in the program, the school, the state, and yourself. fricking love him. We are gonna look back on this and be pissed one day especially considering Woodwards basketball judgement.

He didn't have the benefit of boosters or big money people who gave a shite about Basketball here. That's why he took it upon himself. He invested his own money. I bet K and Cal never did that shite.

I'm proud to have had him and I'm proud I bought season tickets before the 2018 season.

Love you Coach Wade. I will defend your success on this forum until the day I die. He was building something special. This is a damn full rebuild and we get the 6th seed. Unbelievable coaching job man.

The worst part is Woodward and Tates official statement. They literally posted that they were "exhausted from the never ending negativity." WHO frickING CARES what national writers think. They will always shite on LSU mo matter what and history proves that. It is about US and what we think not what the national pussies think and Woodward took the Alleva way out of being influenced by fricking hit pieces. Extremely disappointed. Woodwards hire better be a home fricking run because he will always be judged against Wade and what Wade did.

Love you Coach.

Now, I wouldn't go that far.

But what Wade provided was hope for decades of relevant basketball at a place where that had not been the case for 3 decades. He looked at LSU as a place, with the (potential) resources, to build a championship caliber program. On day one he compared LSU to Florida (under Donovan) as the eventual goal, which was 100% right.

In the 30 years that preceded his arrival you had a pathetic last few years of Dale on the way out after the NCAA finally exacted their pound of flesh they had been seeking for years. You then had a guy (Brady) who was one of the few who would take the job on the cheap. Brady's 10.5 years can be defined by one word "inconsistency". On two separate occasions he won the SEC then immediately finished in last place the following year. LSU was either really good or horrible...sometimes during the same season. There was no baseline. Johnson seemed like a good hire on paper. It just turned out he was a horrible fit. Jones was a complete waste of time and the laziest hire by the laziest AD to run a department.

Wade was Brown when he was first hired. Young coach. Boundless enthusiasm to grow the program across the state. A guy who loved his players and didn't really give much of a shite about the bureaucratic administration. Wade wasn't doing anything that doesn't happen at ALL of the power programs in America. He, unfortunately, talked to the wrong "runner" (one of HUNDREDS, maybe thousands across America) at the wrong time (the first time in HISTORY the DOJ/FBI found investigating college basketball recruiting to be a priority). When that wasn't enough, the NCAA enacted a clear set up (the woman wanting hush money...though seemingly very specific text messages).

With a 39 year old HC LSU fans could have been looking at years and years of exciting March's instead of what basketball had been for the better part of 30 years...just a momentary brief distraction until spring football. That is now gone and the program, within a week or so, will be reduced to nothing. No coaching staff and no players

Agreed! JUST WIN. We live in an age of perpetual (faux) outrage and virtue signaling. Everyone in the media wants to show just how "virtuous" they are. Many of these are the same losers who covered up a lot of egregious things that happened in the era before social media and cameras on every cell phone.

But Woodward got what he wanted. And make no mistake, this was 100% Woodward's decision. Tate has not been here long enough and doesn't have enough internal clout yet to force such a thing. Particularly when he knows the people most hurt by the decision are young black men (i.e. the players, who no one seemed to consider in this situation).

So the ball in in your court Woody. You're the master "hirer". Here's to hoping your next hire will be the FIRST to win a national championship under your leadership. There are several people with a LOT of THEIR money on the line.

To be fair, LSU has 4 SEC titles since the turn of the century. Wade has as many SEC titles as Trent Johnson.
