I'm a bit of a contrarian here. I think allot of cash and ridiculously low-bar incentives will interest many coaches looking for economic reward, while at the same time having minimal pressure to win right away given the expectant rebuild at hand. LSU's NIL reserves will be key and very influential to lure a good coach as well. I think we will be surprised at the interest in a positive way.

Those deals rarely end up working out. The coach is usually inevitably fired, and it thereafter hurts their prospects for their next job.

Kiffin took over for USC when they went on probation. He was fired and ended up as an assistant for a few years.

Matt Luke was hired to be that guy at Ole Miss. He was fired and ended up as the OL coach at UGA.

Mike Shula was that guy at Alabama. He was fired and never found another head coaching job.

Actual good up and coming coaches or good established coaches are not going to want to potentially damage their career arcs or reputations to take over a program with impending sanctions and even fewer are going to consider taking a job without knowing what the sanctions will be. It's just not a smart career move. Especially not at a school like LSU that isn't a destination job in basketball. We're just going to have to hope a halfway decent coach from a small school takes the job IMO and cross our fingers it works out or we'll need to keep an interim coach until we know what the sanctions are

Not really sure you're the contrarian actually, I think the notion that this will devastate the program for 10 years is actually the contrarian thought. Too many examples to the contrary, even here with John Brady making the Sweet 16 and winning the SEC in his 3rd year after he inherited a very penalizing probation.

It may be a tough couple of years, but we will o.k. past that and a good a good coach can be convinced of that without much difficulty and with the NIL and transfer portal you can have it up an hopping pretty fast.
