I didn't realize I needed to read the article and teach it to the class.
But...
Right now, a retired teacher can return to the classroom as a teacher and get full teacher pay plus 25% of normal retirement pay.
The bill under discussion would raise that retirement pay to 50% while they are back to work.
No one is asking retired teachers to work for 1/4th or 1/2 pay.
