Make sure you use a general surgeon that has performed these many times.
Also, make sure it is done either with da Vinci robot or laparoscopic——minimally invasive.
DO NOT GET OPEN PROCEDURE.

There are times when an open procedure really is the way to go. For some people, open can provide a reasonably complete, long-lasting fix where laparoscopic surgery would provide only a partial repair and/or a non-durable one. So really, what you want to do is research doctors, find one near you who does a lot of these and has a good reputation, and then follow the doctor's advice.
