The same reason the monoclonoal
Antibodies were not widely used and or approved by FDA. Wanted to vaccinate not treat. Did not want people to think they had options. Keeping MAN’s under a EUA gave FDA full control.

If they had other options then the Emergency Use Authorization for the vaccine would be challenged. Then the vaccine would have to go through the normal process. And it wouldn’t have 1. Mattered by the time it completed or most likely 2. It wouldn’t have passed.
