Didn't someone die at the ole Box during game 3 of the 2008 Super Regional too?

I’ve never heard that one. Would be a great one to die at if so though! UC Irvine series is one of the best ever

It definitely happened after a game in 2008, but I don't think it was game 3 against Irvine. That whole year though was full of late game comebacks. After Georgia they were a fun team to watch.

It was after game 2 when LSU had that big comeback.

Seconds after the team's big win, Curt McCarty died of a massive heart attack. "He was taken home to rest on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at age 55, while doing what he enjoyed most, watching the LSU baseball game when the Lord called him home," read his obituary.

His 17-year-old son, Logan, saw his father being carried away on a stretcher as Logan left Alex Box Stadium. Before the game, he says his father told him of plans he had for them if the team should win. "He said he wanted to take me to Omaha to watch the Tigers," a tearful Logan McCarty said.
