I'm just going to leave this here.

When we're all forced to electric cars, how are we going to fund our federal highways?

They'll put in a miles driven tax.

Simple, you will pay a tax based on the miles you drive. A usage tax, if you will. There will be a tax. The government is not going to take it's hand out of your pocket, and in the long run, an EV will not be any cheaper to travel in that an ICE.

The possibilities (for new taxes and fees) are literally endless. Have you not been paying attention to what we all deal with currently??

Electricity taxes.

Then it won’t be any cheaper at all than charging vs filling up at the pump eventually

Our electric grid experiences problems when a heat wave comes and there is a mass move towards everybody cranking up their AC system. What exactly do they think is going to happen when you have millions of American drawing power off the grid to charge their vehicles at night (all at one time)?

As with everything else, it may have been a good idea to make sure we have a near fail safe infrastructure in place before pushing everybody towards electric vehicles.

Also, what is their plan for battery disposal? I doubt they thought that part out either.
