I mean if this is true he deserves to get his arse beat for being a racist dick. That doesn’t mean he deserved to die or that the employee intended to kill him.

What other social no-no's justify beating someone's arse?
Who gets to decide which ones are offenses so great they warrant an assault, and which ones are okay?

However indecent, racism is a protected form of speech. If you're going into chimp mode for someone calling you a name, then maybe racism wasn't all that unjustified.
A factor that needs to be considered is that the old man was old as frick. He could have dementia, schizophrenia and can't take an asswhooping. Little punk should be doing longer time. Hopefully he get his soon enough.
