But since we are already are utilizing the fossil fuels in our country, what does this even mean...?

I read that to mean restricting use of foreign sources. and solely using domestic sources.

Otherwise, just let the market determine where the fuel comes from.

However, limiting energy production to just one fuel source leaves one vulnerable to the vagaries of that particular market. If you spread out your fuel sources over several different markets, your energy supply would be more robust, and less volatile, imo.

How, pray-tell, are we going to do that when the federal government constantly attacks and regulates one sector into oblivion, while using taxpayer dollars to prop the other sector up- even thought the technology isnt close to feasible yet?

Tell that to democrats who say, out loud, that they want to kill fossil, while they stonewall nuclear. The right has certainly never espoused this. Another leftist red herring. Most big utilities are all-in on renewables, nuclear, and fossil.
