UN approval doesn’t mean shite.
Uh, yes it does.

We run everything and bend countries to our will
That's why we got UN approval for the 2003 invasion in Iraq...
Also, Russia has veto power. So we "bend Russia to our will"?

I'm about to have to get on the road so I'm going to clarify something before more uneducated talking points reply to me.
I'm not justifying US interference in other states via clandestine methods. I am arguing, correctly, that these endeavors are nothing like Russia invading a sovereign state who was not aggressive towards Russia in any meaningful way, in violation of international law and without worldwide support. The US invasion of Iraq? Yes that is comparable. UN-approved missions? Not comparable.
Also, me dismissing the clandestine operations is not an implicit approval by me. Just as me not getting into every atrocity involved in 2003 Iraq doesn't mean that I supported the war. I don't support any of them, and I imagine a large portion of you trying to shite on the US behavior did support Iraq in real time. I didn't support the Libyan fiasco, either (and even called it Obama's Iraq on this board multiple times).
I have had a consistent view of foreign policy and international relations and my arguments have not needed revising or apologies. How many of you can say the same thing?

quote:Now you're conflating General Assembly votes with those of the Security Council. The UNSC did not approve those actions you addressed earlier. The GA did.

Also Russia has veto power, we bend them to our will
We did from the 90s to early 2000’s while they were recovering from USSR collapse.
