Got a guy at DOTD who sends me emails regularly. They are ALL marked "urgent." Gives me that annoying little red exclamation point in Outlook. Doesn't matter if we're discussing work that's 5 years away--everything is marked highest priority.

Regulators/beaurocrats in general are lacking in the area of communication, over-value themselves and have little-no credibility. Give them the minimum info required, right before the deadline. I've always found they are very slow in responding to requests and are just generally lame...with a few exceptions. If they become obnoxious, drill them with concise email, telling them they'll get what they need.
