When I read this, I wonder if the team did any diligence at all on the prospect or whether the pickings are just that slim. If the latter, I question why the USFL exists.

He was the last available qb drafted
Every team gets 2 qbs and he was the last one picked so they had no other option
I think there are 8 teams and a pool of 16 qbs in the pool of qbs
