I just happened to be listening to Peter Zeihan, the geopolitical expert, being interviewed.

He knows demographics and history quite well.

He knows next to ZERO about oil and gas, pipelines, refining and chemicals for starters.

I can see him getting a little out of his lane on some of that stuff... but doesn't he make his living advising people in a lot of those fields? But I guess they just welcome outside perspectives and correct the mistakes.

I've thought he was always hyperbolic with his conclusions, but I kind of chucked that up to "Click Bait title/headline disease" which has infected everyone in this media environment...

I don't know how to take his conclusion that China will basically cease to function in 10 years... only whenever I see someone in his field arguing against that I look at their other stuff and find that they are pretty much paid China cheerleaders who preach that China will take over the world because they're so smart and awesome. His takes seem a lot more realistic than those...

His takes on the NSA are interesting and funny... "the world's absolute best hackers, bar none... so good they're never in the news or having our government brag about how good they are, like the Russians and Chinese, who actually pretty bad and just pull publicity stunts."

According to him, "Iran supplied the Houthis (people who mostly live without electricity) with modern missile systems, and feed them coordinates over cell phones to enter for naval targets. If you look back to the last couple of attacks from the Houthis, whose ships did they hit? Ha HA HA!... that's the NSA..."
