Depending on how widespread the shelling actually is this would be the first indication that Russia is indeed having a harder time by far than they expected. By that I mean incontrovertible proof vs all the questionable reports from both sides. You don't break something you want to keep if you don't have to.

Surely the Ukrainians wouldn’t be so stupid as to stage military equipment in such a way as to allow for a bombardment like this to destroy it all. Right?
