3.0 diesel = 9500lbs 23/33 mpg (277hp and 460lb tq)

5.3 = 11500lbs 14/21mpg (355hp and 383tq)

I'm not sure why the diesel isn't rated higher with so much more torque. Guessing engine weight?

Engine weight and associated other stuff (transmission, etc) knock it down some. I doubt its 2000 lbs of extra shite though. They likely have shallower gear ratios to hit those fuel economy numbers.

I’m not too concerned with the oil pump thing. They only had enough data to make the claim that it lasts 150k miles, but during their R&D they ran engines well over 250k miles and never had to replace one. I think they were just limited on the claims they were able to make on it.
