Yep. Pretty sure that's in the Alinsky playbook. It helps to utterly own the media and to have both sides of Congress interested in maintaining the game the way its always been played. They may fight eachother for power but they will NOT abide an outsider just joining the game of thrones just because of some pesky deal with voting and silly democracy.
