I think this probably happened but is a perfect example of all the fake "hate crime" stories. People won't believe this one because 9 out of 10 of these are made up. At least this young guy was out working a legit job at 7pm. If there are bullet holes in the van and the police made contact with some residents out there, I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
At least more so than someone who found a noose in a tree.

Yeah I agree.
I certainly don't agree with people shooting at vehicles based on some 'suspicion" - you better have some really serious iron clad evidence before you do that.
Just because this is probably not a hoax should not make us more prone to accept the bullshite hoaxes that are 99% of these 'reports.'
In fact we should come down hard on the real bad examples instead of just trying to make excuses for bad decisions.
