I get that football is about athletes (money) so your competition is really between 10 teams. Baseball is deeper for sure. A winner can come from about 30 teams. But I still think it’s fair and hardly about “luck”

And baseball is just streaking. Your bats may just go into a slump for two days and you are done. Plenty of examples

Every championship whether it’s a high school state championship or the super bowl or World Series is about “luck”. There’s a thousand different things outside of anyone’s control that can knock a worthy team out of contention.
Baseball with as many or more “worthy” teams as any sport requires that much more luck.
