Apparently some others here took it personal too. Maybe the guy just straight up wanted a change after over a decade at the same place of employment?
That aside, it's hard to deny New Orleans is a fast descending, crime infested dump. Point the finger and Cantrell if you wanna blame someone.

We've discussed the likely reasons at length. I've listed my opinion of the reasons. It's a combination of all of the reasons listed. His reasons are understandable. People can have an issue of HOW he left (that is, very suddenly), but, of course, IMHO not "Why" he quit. People have the right to quit any job, of course.
Sean Payton told us that his "heart" was no longer in it. IMHO we can take this literally. There was a serious Bromance going on between Drew Brees and Coach Payton. When Drew Brees retired, he took Sean Payton's "heart" with him. That's why Payton's heart was no longer in it - it was gone - his heart was Drew Brees.
Payton perhaps got too personally attached to his favorite players. He got very attached to Brees. Did it hurt the team? Probably not, unless he really did have a chance to get Tom Brady. Taysom Hill is another of Payton's very favorite. Payton got him that huge contract. Did Payton's attachment to Taysom Hill hurt the team? We'll see whether that big contract was a wise Payton personnel decision or whether Payton's judgment was clouded by another one of his "hearts".
