Just buy the license. The marine patrol or wildlife officer should write you a ticket because let's be real, the adult is the one doing most of the fishing or at least is actively helping the kids bait hooks, tie lures, net the fish, release the fish and etc. .


They are not expensive and if yu have a place down here you can afford an annual saltwater license. Heck, just buy a lifetime and definitely buy the kids/grandkids one as soon as they're old enough to need a license. My father bought me the lifetime fishing and hunting when I turned 18. I was grandfathered in when the Saltwater license was invented

I've lived in Orange Beach for 25+ years and know the head guy (or he was at one point) If I remember this thread later today I'll call him and ask him what he would do and report back. He'd probably give a warning first time but you better have all the proper and required safety devices . I know he'll write you up for those deficiencies, especially if you have young children on the boat.
