Thinking about new sticks

Turning 50 and considering marking the occasion with new sticks.
I haven't played that much over the last 20 years. But the nest is now empty and I've been able to get out more recently.
Irons are Callaway X22s. Hit Hogan BH5s before these; they were my favorite iron, but I also was playing a good bit more back then and that probably clouds my thinking.
Thoughts on irons for an old amateur that never got the handicap under 11 (old system)?

Go get fit.
So many options.
So many options.

You sound like a guy that keeps his clubs a while.
Going to a fitting studio and through the process will probably get you into a set that will last awhile.
Lots of forgiving models from cavity backs to hollow body irons.
Getting into the right shaft means everything.

I just preordered the new Rogue ST Max irons. Hoping those are the ones I finally stick with. Even see itching my irons up way too much lately, not giving them a chance to see how I perform with them.

In my bag as well. They work fine for me. Although I should upgrade as well. Just too cheap.

I hit the new Rogue ST pros and they felt amazing. I’ve always played Mizuno but those things have me thinking about switching

I changed irons last summer. Get fitted and hit many different brands. They were trying to put me in TM at the start until I insisted on trying the Titleist T300's before I decided. They didn't have a set of Titleist but had a 6 iron head so they put it on different shafts for testing. Numbers were much better and they just felt better than the TM and Callaways.

Last two PGA Tour events won by PXG Pro's using PXG irons, just saying....

I have a set of i59s that are supposed to ship this week. I am not even going to hit them. I am going to sell them as soon as I get them. Someone is going to get a good deal.

I am confused about where Ping is going these days.
Their bread and butter has always been game improvement irons that really performed.
The I59's are difficult and the new 525 irons better really perform because they are average looking.
The game improvement irons like the 425 keeps getting smaller where high handicapped players start having doubts.
So many high handicapped guys fell in love with the g2, G30, larger footprint irons that were super forgiving.
I love Ping as a Company, but it is baffling.

Anywhere to hit PXGs since they went direct selling?

Check the PXG website for locations.
Several high end CC's here in Houston area have demo's and charge 50 bucks for a fitting.
Club Champion has demo's too.
