I've had different experiences with these. I made a $1,200 bet to open on Barstool and lost. Soon after, I got a $1,000 credit that didn't require much play-through to get real cash.
MGM kind of screwed me once because I put $200 in and they "matched" it with $200. But, all $400 was locked to credit for a long time, limited to casino play, and required an insane amount of play-through to become cash. Ironically, that is how I ended up positive last year -- I played blackjack so much and kept winning because it wasn't real money to me that I ended up making $6,000 one day. I would have gladly cashed out up a grand or two.
My experience is that if you play consistently, MGM and Caesars will throw you a lot of $5-$20 free bets/bonuses.
