Doesn't matter. LSU policy supercedes any direct supervisor. They should have asked once the supervisors instructions contradicted corporate policy. Several departments on campus actually had that same issue come up. They escalated to the VP levels and the dean was admonished.

Verge and Miriam being HIGHLY paid senior administrators should have NEVER allowed for confusion in the first place. I'd also argue they wielded their heavy influence on Joe (who is weak AF) to create the policy of keeping things within athletics. They argue they wanted coaches to have someone they knew to talk with on these matters. LSU policy says report them directly period
